Position Title: Procurement Officer
Department: Procurement/Supply Chain
Reports to: Head of Procurement
Location: Abu Dhabi

Job Summary
The procurement officer is responsible for managing the acquisition of goods, services, and equipment for the organization, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery. The role involves identifying potential suppliers, negotiating contracts, and maintaining strong supplier relationships while adhering to company policies and ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Procurement Operations:
Source and procure materials, equipment, and services as per organizational requirements.
Prepare and process purchase orders and requisitions in compliance with company policies.
Evaluate and select suppliers based on cost, quality, service, and reliability.
Ensure timely delivery of procured goods and services.
2. Supplier Management:
Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure high-quality service and optimal pricing.
Conduct supplier performance evaluations and address issues as they arise.
Negotiate terms and conditions of contracts with suppliers.


3. Cost Management:
Conduct cost analyses and market research to identify trends and opportunities for cost reduction.
Monitor and manage the procurement budget effectively.
4. Compliance and Documentation:
Ensure procurement activities comply with legal and company standards.
Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and other procurement-related documents.
Prepare and submit regular procurement reports to management.
5. Risk Management:
Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies.
Address and resolve procurement-related issues promptly.
6. Collaboration:
Work closely with other departments to understand their needs and provide procurement support.
Coordinate with finance to ensure accurate payment processing.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Certification in procurement or supply chain (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is preferred.
Experience:
Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
Knowledge of procurement software and ERP systems or Oracle is an advantage.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy.


Familiarity with market research and supplier evaluation techniques.
Knowledge of relevant legal regulations and compliance standards.
